Punjab is an Indian state. Punjab The land of Five Rivers. Punjab means “land of five rivers,” stemming from the Persian words ‘panj,’ meaning ‘five,’ and ‘aab,’ meaning ‘water.’ The five rivers — Beas, Chenab, Jhelum, Ravi, Sutlej .
Punjabi fashion have very long history in 1980s the main wearables of Punjabi people were cotton clothes. Cotton clothes are the favourite clothing for Punjabi people because cotton clothes provide stable experience in summer season. Cotton clothes are softer than other materials.
Cotton clothes were manufactured in Hoshiarpur, Gurdaspur, Peshawar, Lahore, Multan, Amritsar, Ludhiana, Jhang, Shahpur, Jalandhar, Delhi, Gurgaon, Rohtak, Karnal, Rewari, Panipat etc. This cotton industry added to the richness of Punjabi clothing which exhibits Punjab's rich and vibrant culture in its dresses.
But nowadays Indian people are attracted towards western fashion the Indian Fashion is left behind.
